Sliver Bird is a medium overdrive, from light break up to Free bird!
Backstory by Bjorn:
"This is a dynamic preamp/overdrive to carry in your guitar case. It can be used for "edge of breakup sounds or it can go into Free bird solo territory (given appropriate guitar face). Playing intensely results in overdriven sounds similar to some old tube amplifiers giving overdrive when pushed. Not as much sustain, but rather overdrive fading to clean. The way Silver Bird does this is through a series of saturation points making a smooth transition rather than a sharp overload. combining this with filter tricks that follow the progression of distortion specifically aligned with the dynamic performance of a standard electric guitar. the sound can be dynamically controlled and gets progressively more distorted and brighter when pushed."
Controls:
Volume - sets output level
Drive - sets overall gain and compression by amplifying the weak parts to the roof!
Bass - controls sensitivity of mostly low E string
Mids - controls sensitivity of the top 5 strings
Treble - controls overall brightness of the sound
Tips: The key to getting specific sounds and playability lies in setting the Drive, Bass, and Midrange so that the sensitivity of the strings and notes can be set by these three controls. they control what distorts, whereas the Volume and Treble controls how much volume and treble comes out of the pedal
This means that increasing the Bass or Midrange gives more gain and compression
