The Kjams Phaser is a simple to use but highly tweakable 2 program phaser with some unique features. It is based on traditional phasers with 4 all-pass filters. It features an expression control input as well as an external speed control.

Programs

- Feedback - The more traditional program is selected by switching the toggle to the Feedback position. This will replicate classic phase sounds that you may already be familiar with, but with independent control over Depth, Feedback, and Speed. Feedback can also be controlled by an external expression controller to make a wah-like effect.

- Moco - This program gets its name from our cool co-worker and excellent musician, Moco! He wanted to experiment with a "lockable" LFO to get cocked-wah style filter sounds. This ended up being a shop favorite and we included it as the 2nd program. You still have control over Depth and Feedback, but instead of a speed control, you get the Moco control! This replaces the internal LFO, allowing you to use the pedal like you would a wah, or to just park the LFO where you choose, creating a neat band pass filtering effect.

Pots
- The Lower pot depends on the program.
- - In the Feedback program, it controls feedback.
- -  In the Moco program, it replaces the LFO, allowing you to set the peak frequency of the phaser, like a cocked wah, unless over-ridden by the Tap switch.
- The Left pot depends on the program
- - in the Feedback program it sets the speed unless over-ridden by the Tap switch.
- - In the Moco program it sets feedback.
- The Right pot controls Depth in both programs.
- The Top pot controls Volume, from 0 to about +6dB.

Footswitches
- BYPASS is a typical on/off switch. It is true bypass.
- TAP depends on the program.
- - In the Feedback program, When the pedal is powered up or the program is changed, speed is set by the pot. If the switch is tapped, the speed decelerates to the slowest speed. If it is tapped again, speed accelerates to the pot setting. You can simply set the speed you like with the pot, or ramp up and down with the Tap switch.
- - In the Moco program, speed is set to 0 when the pedal is powered up or the program is changed. Tapping the switch twice will set the speed unless over-ridden by the pot or the expression pedal, in which case the speed returns to 0.

Jacks
- IN and OUT are standard mono in and out.
- EXP is an expression pedal input. It replaces the lower pot, so its function depends on the program.
- - In the Feedback program, it controls Feedback, allowing you to control the feedback, similar to a wah.
- - In the Moco program, it replaces the LFO, allowing you to control the peak frequency of the phaser, similar to a wah.
- TAP is parallel with the on-board tap switch. Use a standard normally open switch.

Power
- Input power is standard center negative 9v DC. Please do not use higher voltages.
- The pedal draws about 62mA.

LED
- The LED turns on when the pedal is engaged. It pulses to show the phaser speed.

Other
- The pedal is designed and assembled in Holland, MI, USA.
- The faceplate is black walnut sealed with Birchwood Casey tru-Oil. Since this is wood, each unit will have a unique grain pattern.
- The pedal is based on the popular Spin FV-1 DSP chip.
