This is a pedalboard friendly silicon fuzz. Albeit, not a fuzz face.
Backstory from Bjorn:
"This started its life as I was making a pedalboard for guitar shows and I wanted a fuzz pedal on it. but, alas, all my favorite fuzzes required particular settings on amplifier drastically different from the other pedals on the board. So, I made a circuit that would align with typical settings on amp as used with the other pedals.
The circuit was a hybrid of some of my favorite fuzzes, but was tamed to match EQ and also to allow other uses like amp break up sounds. Think about the sounds you can get from rolling off volume on guitar or from an amp on the verge of breaking up. The first version was named the Snow White Fuzz. Later on, that evolved into the Arctic White Fuzz. After using the Snow White Fuzz for awhile, I refined the EQ and added an additional Attack control. At this point, I am thrilled with how the circuit sounds."
Controls:
Volume - Sets output level and there is enough volume on tap to use the pedal as a boost.
Fuzz - Sets input impedance and ‘clean up’ as well as intensity.
Attack - Sets both the gain of the circuit as well as the complexity of sound.
Treble - A high frequency control via a staircase filter, allowing softening of harsh edges.
Specifications:
IZ depends on setting of Fuzz from about 20K to 1M Ohm@1KHz
Max load Z at output about 10K Ohms
Current draw at 9V DC about 1.5mA standby and about 2.5mA with LED lit
Voltage Range 7.5V - 18V
S/N ratio -80dB
